The study course “Bachelor of Music in Jazz” is conducted by the Jazz Institute Berlin (JIB), in cooperation between the College of Music Hanns Eisler Berlin and Berlin University of the Arts. The education of this program begins only after candidates defend in practice their sufficient musical and artistic talent and knowledge in the genre. Visiting renowned artist offer their assistance in the practical part of the studies. The jazz musician’s formative process of the program runs along eights semesters and gives 240 ECTS. Candidates are accepted only if the admission board approves their submitted pre-selection jazz repertoire recordings. Students acquire the necessary musical and musical-technical competences in the form of modules, individualized or group artistic lessons, lectures and seminars.
