The Faculty of Music at Berlin University of arts offers the study program “Music: Integrated Secondary Schools and Grammar Schools – Lateral Entry”. The aim of such a course is the preparation of already accomplished music professionals for the task of transmitting their love of music and their artistic competence to the young schoolchildren, and influencing their aesthetic appreciation of art in general. The training takes into account the specific needs of the children at that age through modern and historic didactic methodology development, as well as through solid pedagogical knowledge. Students’ individual talents and profile are catered for by the modular customized studies. There is a practical semester at the end of the studies.
