“Musical Show” is an eight-semester German-taught program at the Berlin University of the Arts, which leads to the Absolvent/in degree. It is structured into four-semester basic and four-semester advanced study periods in the fields of acting, dance, voice and integral work. There is a preliminary selection and an entrance exam of performing pieces from musical, pop/rock, chanson, a choreographic piece and a dance piece. A letter of motivation and an interview are also parts of the selection procedure. The degree gives access to the musical, film, radio or television productions. It also trains students both in practical and theoretical, conceptual creative work for further professional development in diverse musical spheres. Contemporary social and ecological reposnsibility aspects are also touched upon. Studium Generale, an interdisciplinary project of 300 student work hours, is also included, and mentoring support is available throughout the program.
