The Berlin University of Arts gives an opportunity to those students who have completed the respective B.Mus degree to gain further in-depth knowledge about music history, theory, musical form, score reading, musical styles and proficiency in the instrumental major, as well as piano, for another two semesters in the master’s degree “Master of Music in Sound Engineer”. In collaboration with the Berlin University of Technology, it provides solid background of technical expertise in acoustics, mathematics, communications technology and electro and digital technology. All forms of sound production are covered. Specialisation is available in three areas – classical and popular music, and sound-to-image. It develops the creative, conceptual and managerial capacity of the future sound engineers. Students have eight studios, updated editing systems and modern portable recording equipment, as well as the support of academics and professionals available. The second of the four modules of study takes the form of a Master thesis.
