The Master’s degree “Master of Arts in Stage Design” at the Berlin University of Arts is a four-semester, held in German program, which follows after a completed corresponding undergraduate degree at the Berlin University of the Arts, or an equivalent one from another university. The essence of the studies conveys the mastery and ability to put into practice all diverse skills needed to perform the profession of a stage designer, mainly for the theatre, and to implement them into individual project work. The aesthetic perspective of peers and advisors help gradually develop one’s artistic concepts and find one’s own dramatic technical language for the stage. The modules included are primarily oriented to team work - group, faculty and studio projects, and the realization of a Master thesis to cap the course of studies and constructively declare the graduate’s visual concept.
