Berlin University of the Arts offers the four-semester Master program “Master of Education in Theatre: Integrated Secondary Schools and Grammar Schools”. It gives access to the preparatory service (Referendariat), and then, to the teaching profession.  A completed undergraduate degree, artistic talent, and a good level of German are the prerequisites for admission, but the entrance examination performance is decisive in the selection process. Individual and in ensemble exam tasks are given to the applicants on the day of the exam, without previous preparation, in order to test their scenic expression of body movement, readiness to play, ability to react to impulses and interpretation skills. Recognition of corresponding degrees and subjects previously taken is only possible after successfully passing the entrance exam.
