The “Master of Arts in Music Composition” program at Bern University of Applied Sciences enables students to compose music in a wide range of styles and occasions. Over the course of 4 full-time semesters, the degree opens up a wide range of perspectives in the professional practice of composition. An aptitude exam, a bachelor's degree, a diploma from a university of applied sciences, or an equivalent degree are all required for admission. After completing the program, graduates have developed their own artistic portfolio and plenty of project experience. They can work as a freelance composer, as an interpreter specializing in composition and contemporary music, as an arranger or curator of festivals and more.
