Catholic Private University Linz, founded in 1978, is a private ecclesiastical university seated in Linz, Austria. It accomodates two faculties: the Faculty of Theology, the Faculty of Philosophy, and the Faculty of Art Studies. Almost 440 students are currently enrolled at the University. The scope of studies offered includes the six-semester Bachelor degree program “Philosophy“ (B.A.), the six-semester Baccalaureate program “Catholic Religious Education“ (Bacc.rel.paed.), the eight-semester teacher education program “Higher Secondary Teaching Education (General Education)“ (B.Ed.), the four-semester Magister program “Catholic Religious Education“ (Mag.rel.paed.), the four-semester Master programs “Fundamentals of Christian Theology“ (M.A.), “Religion in Culture and Society“ (M.A.), “Philosophy“ (M.A.), and “Art Studies“ (M.A.), the ten-semester Diploma program “Catholic Theology“ (Mag.theol.), the nine-semester teacher education program in Catholic Religion (Mag.theol.), the four-semester Licentitate program “Catholic Theology“ (Lic.theol.), the six-semester doctoral programs “Catholic Theology“ (Dr.theol.) and “Art Studies and Philosophy“ (Dr.phil.), as well as the six-semester PhD program “Advanced Theological Studies“ (PhD). Catholic Private University Linz also provides the opportunity to obtain a postdoctoral degree.
