The Catholic University of Applied Sciences Berlin offers the five-semester part-time Master’s degree “Master of Arts in Clinical Social Work (extra-occupational)”, which helps the students to expand and deepen the content of a social work focused on the treatment of socio-psychosomatic illnesses or disabilities. This master’s degree qualifies the students for professional clinical thinking and acting through the targeted strengthening of the following competencies: Methodological competence, Management and Research competence. The main purpose of this course is to provide the students with the ability to critically reflect the theory and practice of clinical social work from an ethical perspective, as well as to act in a responsible role at challenging interfaces between the individual, society and politics. Also, the fact that the course is part-time gives the students enough flexibility to combine studies, work and family.
