The “Master of Arts in Middle East Studies” is a 4-semester program conducted in German. It is designed for applicants with a Bachelor’s degree in Jewish Studies or Islamic Studies. The curriculum consists of diverse courses with a focus on language acquisition (combinations of Hebrew, Arabic, Turkish / Ottoman, Persian), cultural and religious aspects of the Middle East. Throughout their education, students will deepen their theoretical knowledge and acquire hands-on experience. The MA provides participants with the opportunity to set their career path early on by choosing from 2 areas of specialisation - Jewish Middle East and Islamic Middle East. Graduates are qualified to work in the fields of International and Supranational organizations, NGOs, Cultural institutions, Foreign Trade, Political and Economic consultation, Language Teaching, and Adult Education.
