The degree program “Bachelor of Science in Medical Engineering” is offered by Chemnitz University of Technology, spanning a standard duration of 7 semesters. It is taught in German. The first mandatory internship is supposed to be acquired before the beginning of the course. During the curriculum, Design and Development, Medicine and Biomechanics and Medical Devices and Materials are covered. Upon graduation, graduates are able to work in the subfields of development of medical products, devices, mechanical aids and equipment, sales and distribution of medical products and services, maintenance of medical devices and consulting in hospitals and many more.
