The six-semester degree program “Bachelor of Arts for Teacher Training in Chemistry (Vocational Colleges, Grammar Schools and Comprehensive Schools)” is offered by the Technical University of Dortmund. By including elective modules, students of this course are able to select their individual focus point. By attending lectures, seminars and laboratory practices the teacher training program provides key competences that students acquire in order to learn how to safely use equipment and chemicals during experiments for example. The course is geared towards achieving an independently learning process with a subject-specific didactic content. Participants are required to possess school knowledge of chemistry, the related natural science subjects of physics and mathematics.
