Description
The study program “Art Technology, Preservation and Restoration of Artistic and Cultural Assets” offered by the Dresden University of Fine Arts (HfBK Dresden) is a ten-semester program with a study prerequisite of general higher education entrance qualification, 12-month preparatory internship and proof of passed aptitude test. The innovative program is primarily focused on the art restoration industry and the skills required for original works of art preservation. The University has established successful partner collaborations with national and international institutions, museums, and other academic organizations that the participants can benefit from. The course is a careful blend of theory and practice, developing different skills from problem solving and scientific researches to preservation-restorative work. The study program offers three different specialization fields: Mural Painting and Architectural Colors, Painting on Mobile Picture Carriers, and Sculptures and Room Setting.
