Description
The postgraduate study program “Art Therapy” offered by the Dresden University of Fine Arts (HfBK Dresden) is a four-semester program with a study prerequisite of general higher education entrance qualification or proof of a university education in the field of arts (with possible exceptions). The course is primarily focused on the results that art can provide including self-healing, self-responsibility and general awareness. The process combines the theoretical aspects of therapy and fine arts practice. Among the key subjects of the educational program are Theoretical Basics, Methods of Art Therapy, Research and Practice in Art Therapy. During the course, renowned practitioners are included to introduce the participants to the prerequisites for a successful psychological/medical therapy through the joy of creating art. The postgraduate program encourages the students to strengthen their self-understanding and acceptance through the art therapy.
