The French-program “Master of Science in Architecture” at the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne targets individuals who have successfully completed a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture. It provides students with a solid theoretical background and additional polytechnic training for design. They have the opportunity to learn more about projects at the architectural, urban and territorial scale. The course of studies addresses issues including preservation of the environment, promotion of sustainable development, energy-wise optimization of constructions, use of new materials, and the necessity to control production costs. Students are required to cooperate with other degrees such as civil engineering, and environmental sciences and engineering in order to show the academic and professional skills they have acquired and improve their teamwork ability. Architecture postgraduates can start their career by joining a firm of architects and taking part in various projects.
