The English-language study program “Master of Science in Communication Systems” at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne is suitable for candidates who hold a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from a recognized university. The course of studies focuses on the global interplay of Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, and Electrical Engineering. Research in this program revolves around building and demonstrating technologies that will be needed in next-generation systems and their integration into operational communication systems. The research programs include almost all aspects of modern communications, for example, theoretical foundations, security, signal processing, vision, networking, as well as computer engineering and systems. Some of the specializations offered are Computer Engineering, Data Analytics, Foundation of Software, Cyber Security, Networking and Mobility, Signals, Images and Interfaces, as well as Software Systems. Students gain valuable industrial experience during their studies, as they are required to do an internship which can be combined with their Master’s thesis. Graduates are prepared for a career in areas such as development, research, and management.
