Description
The French-language study program “Bachelor of Science in Electrical and Electronic Engineering” at École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne is suitable for individuals passionate about electricity, electronics, and electromagnetism. In order to acquire the skills required for becoming electrical engineers, students familiarize themselves with the development of all relevant tools, including images, sound, and multimedia used by new information and communication technologies. They learn how to develop technologies in the field of acoustics as well as wireless antenna or sensors, electromagnetic waves, signal processing, optics, photonics, and image analysis. Apart from scientific basics in the first year, the course of studies also consists of classes on electronics, circuits and systems, as well as signal processing. Furthermore, students are involved in practical work in laboratories and projects. During their final year they are allowed to choose two out of the following three modules: micro and nanoelectronics, information technologies, and energy. Graduates have the competencies to develop solutions of energy problems and could be employed in the transportation or the energy sector, or areas related to health care or biotechnology.
