The study program “Master of Science in Physics and Applied Physics”, offered by École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in English with some optional courses taught in French, is a continuation of the Bachelor’s degree program in Physics. Candidates must have graduated at a reputable university with excellent results. Students are introduced to a set of conceptual tools which have united scientific communities for centuries across a broad spectrum of research activities. They immerse themselves into the many different areas of physics, including electromagnetism, thermodynamics, statistical mechanics and quantum mechanics. Students are encouraged to develop an approach to the understanding of physical phenomena and become acquainted with common characteristics of universal problems.
