The “Bachelor of Engineering in Smart Building Engineering’’ offered by FH Aachen University of Applied Sciences is a full-time program with a duration of seven semesters. The perspectives of this study program are in the planning and constructing ‘’smart’’ buildings.  The program focuses on promoting each participant’s own development and is constructed in the following approach: the first four semesters are focused on core competencies, followed by two semesters of specialization based on each student's choices, and one semester that is focused on a practical project and the thesis. There is a possibility for a semester abroad. The study content aims to give extensive knowledge about the different needs of modern buildings such as design, construction, technical equipment, and system integration. To be admitted to the program, students are requested to do pre-study practical training in the period of eight weeks.
