The three-year part-time postgraduate study program “Master of Arts Upper-Level Teacher” offered by Free University of Stuttgart is designed for academics who have studied a school-related discipline and wish to apply their expertise to working with children and adolescents. Individual block weeks make up the curriculum. As a prerequisite to the program applicants need proof of previous pedagogical completed education (for example Bachelor degree). Throughout the first year students acquire knowledge in epistemology, anthropology, etc. During the second year participants learn pedagogy of adolescents, methodology and didactics, and also complete an internship. In the last year of the program students are being introduced to Waldorf education, and write their Master`s thesis. Upon completion of the course of study graduates will be eligible to teach their previously studied course at the upper level on their own. The university`s academic certification guarantees the ability to get teaching permits in all German federal states as well as worldwide.
