The degree program “Master of Science in Materials Science” at Hamburg University of Technology provides a full-time study course with a duration of four semesters. This study course aims of people that are interested in both engineering and natural science and are keen to learn more about products and product innovations. Throughout this course participants Will learn in-depth about materials, material development and they will focus on key fields such as energy storage and conversion, as well as structural lightweight construction to improve existing materials and adapt them to the constantly changing requirements of global competition. Some main topics covered by the course are Physics and chemistry of materials, metals in experiment, theory and cross scale modelling, mechanical properties and more. Some excellent career paths that graduates can choose from towards the end of their study are design engineer, materials engineer, metallurgist, product/process development scientists, research scientists, technical sales engineer and many more.
