Description
The Federal Employment Agency, Germany, is at the same time a mediator, one of the biggest employers in the country, and also an academic degree provider through its own university - University of Applied Labor Studies of the Federal Employment Agency, or HdBA for short. The “Bachelor of Arts in Advice on Education, Work and Employment” program lasts for three academic years, contains practical, as well as theoretical modules, four internships, and culminates in a thesis preparation. The focus of the studies is counselling and job orientation, especially of people in difficult conditions, or those having disabilities. The preparation requires skills and knowledge on various areas of expertise – law, economics and social sciences. There are three specializations available – Professional Advice, Case Management, and Participation in Working Life. The latter can be further credited towards Case Manager professional certificate. The thesis topics are individually tailored for each student, but need to address a relevant issue from the scope of the degree studies.
