The six-semester study program “Bachelor of Arts in Education at Primary Level” offered by Heidelberg University of Education has the purpose of providing students with the needed qualification, in order to be eligible to educate and upbring 5-12-year-old children. Participants will learn about interculturality, diagnostics and resource promotion, as well as about the transition process, which children go through when entering primary school. A specific focus is put on the personal competencies’ development. Besides the education disciplines, students take up two more subjects. For the first one, students can choose German or Mathematics. For the second subject, some of the available options are English, French, Art, Music, etc. Graduates of the program are eligible to work in the fields of parenting and family counselling, in socio-cultural centres, etc. If they also obtain a relevant Master`s degree, they would be qualified to teach at primary schools, too.
