The four-semester study program “Master of Arts in Education Sciences” offered by Heidelberg University of Education has the aim of training future education experts at a high academic level in order to be able to effectively fulfil the needs of a dynamically changing education market. Students will gain bot broad and specialized knowledge and skills in several areas of educational sciences. Furthermore, they will learn how to assess complicated scientific topics and approach them with a problem-solving mindset. Moreover, participants will develop professional key competencies, encompassing interpersonal and communicative. The curriculum comprises of educational basics, research methods and evaluation as well as leadership, law and moderation. Besides these main disciplines, students select a focus profile in one of the following fields: extracurricular upbringing and education in the context of social heterogeneity, educational processes in early childhood and in the elementary sector, inclusion in special educational fields of activity, and age, education, digitalization. Graduates of the program work in educational institutions, company divisions, or pursue scientific career at universities.
