The “Certificate of Advanced Studies in Low Vision in Pedagogical Work Areas” program at Heidelberg University of Education includes a total of 160 hours of attendance and guided self-study and case work in the amount of 290 hours. In order to meet the diverse challenges in early intervention, for children, adolescents and adults with multiple disabilities, in school age and in senior citizenship, this training offers an insight into and overview of the relevant subject areas and provides basic knowledge in the various areas of “Low Vision”. After completing the certificate course, the participants have a number of professional skills and competences. Graduates are expected to transfer the contents of the modules to their own practice.
