The four-semester Master of Education study program “Postgraduate Studies in Teaching Special Education” offered by Heidelberg University of Education provides students with a scientific education which advances in professional academic degree. Acceptance in the preparation service for teaching post special needs education is based on the completion of this Master`s program. Special educational principles, a special educational field of action, two special educational topics, and practical school studies make up the curriculum. Subject-specific pedagogy, didactics, psychology and diagnostics are among the special education disciplines. A first state examination for a teaching position, a master`s degree relevant to a teaching role, or a second state examination for a teaching job are all criteria for admission.
