Description
The advanced training module “Religiously Justified Extremism; Prevention of Islamism in Educational Institutions” at Heidelberg University of Education is divided into three thematic blocks, each comprising two seminar days in presence and a self-learning phase of 6-8 weeks. Aimed at teachers and school-based pedagogues, the course enables the participants to recognize the forms and modes of action of religiously based extremism in educational institutions. The curriculum introduces sociological, psychological and legal principles of dealing with the topic of extremism, different forms of religiously motivated extremism, the process of radicalization of young people, current events and other relevant topics. Admission requirements include a university degree (with a minimum of 180 credit points or with a minimum of three years of standard study time).
