The six-semester study program “Bachelor of Arts in Education at Secondary Level” offered by Heidelberg University of Education has the purpose of providing students with the needed qualification, in order to be eligible to educate and upbring 10-17-year-old children. Participants will learn about interculturality, diagnostics and resource promotion. A specific focus is put on the personal competencies’ development. Besides the education disciplines, students take up two more subjects. Available for them to choose from are biology, chemistry, ethics, history, art, music, theology, etc. Graduates of the program are eligible to work in the fields of parenting and family counselling, in socio-cultural centres, etc. If they also obtain a relevant Master`s degree, they would be qualified to teach at secondary level, too.
