The six-semester study program “Bachelor of Arts in Special Education” offered by Heidelberg University of Education has the purpose of providing students with the needed qualification in order to be eligible to educate and upbring children, adolescents and young adults, who have special education needs. The focus of the course of study is put on personal competencies developments and abilities which encourage cooperation and inclusion processes. Besides the education sciences, students will have the opportunity to choose two special needs education subjects. Available for them are language, spiritual development, biology, learning with blindness and low vision, mathematics, music, etc. Graduates of the program are eligible to work in the fields of parenting and family counselling, in socio-cultural centres, etc. If they also obtain the relevant Master`s degree, they would be qualified to work in the areas of special need education.
