The study program “Master of Education in Teaching Qualification Special Education” offered by Heidelberg University of Education has the purpose of providing students with the needed qualification, in order to be eligible to educate and upbring children, adolescents, and young adults who have special educational needs. Students will learn how to create offers to people with special needs, in terms of their more specific learning demands and opportunities. As a prerequisite for enrolment participants need proof of finished bachelor`s degree with study elements in a special education subjects and educational sciences. Two special education subjects and the subjects from the Bachelor`s degree will be further enhanced. Available for the special education subject to choose from are language, spiritual development, learning with blindness and low vision, etc. After completing the program, students can start preparatory service, which will later qualify them for teaching in special schools. Another option for the graduates is working in all-day school care, training centres, etc.
