The “Bachelor of Arts in Ancient History” program at Heidelberg University covers ancient Greek and Roman cultures, including the Christian period of late Antiquity. The course can be taken as a first and second major subject 50%. The program lasts six semesters and is conducted in German and English. The structure of the training is divided into two phases, an introductory phase and an advanced phase. Students acquire basic knowledge of the historical period events and geography, methods and different approaches of historical analysis and interpretation and develop competencies to analyze various social and political primary and secondary sources.
