The study course “Master of Arts in Assyriology” offered at Heidelberg University provides deeper comprehension and improvements on the bachelor’s degree knowledge. Students continue their familiarization with the advanced ancient cultures of the Near East and their material legacies and cuneiform documents. The length of study is four semesters and the format is full-time. With this degree students can proceed to an academic career in German universities or abroad, or in museums, in libraries, in publishing, in the diplomatic service, with the press, radio, television, and with companies for study trips and more.  Some of the include subjects in the program are languages and writings, history, religions, literature, economy, science, society, law and material legacies of the Ancient Near East and more.
