The partial study program “Master of Education in Biology” at Heidelberg University offers extensive knowledge in both biology and the didactic skills needed for teaching biology. Students are building on their bachelor’s degree skills and understanding of biology with the focus on subject didactics and the reflection and implementation teaching methods. The duration of study is four semesters in full-time. Graduates can seek a professional career education as biology teacher, follow an academic career in universities and research institutes or in the private sector in biology related companies. Participants are familiarized with subjects like advanced biology, structure and functioning of living organism, biology didactics, didactic methods and their application, cells, genetic information in DNA, interaction with proteins, genetic engineering, functions of genes and proteins and more.
