The study program “Bachelor of Science in Chemistry” at Heidelberg University allows students to develop their theoretical and practical skills in the vast field of Chemistry. There are three possible specializations in Organic chemistry, Inorganic chemistry and Physical chemistry. Students can complete the program in six semesters of full-time study format. When graduated, students can proceed to a career in research and development, analytics, production, marketing, environmental protection, process engineering in the chemical industry, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, food, building materials industries, public service and more. The subject included in the program are synthesis of new materials, matrix isolation, enantioselective and metal-mediated organic synthesis and natural product chemistry, physical organic chemistry, linear and nonlinear laser spectroscopy, cellular biophysics, biomaterials, biosensing, biotechnology and more.
