The study course “Master of Science in Chemistry” provided at Heidelberg University offers extensive education, building on the bachelor’s degree to develop students’ theoretical and practical skills in the vast field of Chemistry. The available specializations are Bioinorganic Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysical Chemistry, Homogeneous Catalysis, Molecular Modelling, Radiochemistry, Reactive Flows and Theoretical Chemistry. The program’s duration is four semesters of full-time study, however there is the option for part-time study, as well, as the option to choose the language of study between German and English. Graduates can start to a career in research and development, analytics, production, marketing, environmental protection, process engineering in the chemical industry, pharmaceutical, cosmetics, food, building materials industries, public service and more. Included in the course are advanced topics in the disciplines of inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, physical chemistry like matrix isolation, physical organic chemistry, cellular biophysics, biomaterials, biosensing, and more.
