Description
The program “Master of Arts in Classical and Modern Literature” at Heidelberg University introduces the main trends in the development of Hebrew-Jewish, Greek-Latin, and contemporary literature and culture. The course aims to provide an overview of the main lines in the evolution of Hebrew-Jewish, Greco-Latin and modern literature and culture and the ability to present and analyze them confidently. The duration of the training is four semesters, and the languages of instruction is German and the teaching languages of the supplementary field. The syllabus consists of the subjects Modernity, Antiquity, Theory of literature and culture and others. Students acquire specific skills for classical-philological and contemporary philological education and are able to compare and contrast the different approaches and methods of different philological disciplines.
