Description
The “Bachelor of Arts in Classical Archaeology” program at Heidelberg University focuses on the material remains from ancient Greeks and Romans and their predecessors, as well as their influence on the modern world. The range of material remains varies from objects used in everyday life to structures in settlements to artefacts and drawings. The minor-25% course lasts six semesters and is taught in German and English. The program consists of the following topics: Settlements and Environment, Buildings and Graves, Everyday Objects and Religious Cults and Sculpture. Students acquire subject-specific methods and working techniques, theoretical basics of topography and settlement archaeology, cultural studies and image science and numerous more beneficial competencies.
