Description
The consecutive program “Master of Arts in Classical Archaeology” at Heidelberg University is a continuation of the Bachelor's degrees in this field and deepens and extends the knowledge already acquired. The course focuses on various discovered material remains from ancient Greek and Roman culture and their predecessors, as well as their influence on the modern world. The training lasts four semesters and consists of one core subject (75%) and one additional subject (25%). The program includes theoretical, interdisciplinary investigation of questions surrounding settlement and landscape archaeology, training in field research methods, scientific project work, museology and more topics. Graduates of this master course receive the qualification required to begin research-related positions in ancient history studies and museum studies or continue with a doctorate study.
