The “Master of Arts in Conference Interpreting” study course at Heidelberg University educates students on the theory and practice of speaking communication at specialized conferences. The program concentrates on both the scientific and the methodological-practical competencies of conference interpreting. The training has a continuation of four semesters and conducted in German and English. Students acquire abilities to interpret complex utterances in terms of function, coherence, semantic transfer, processing strategies, linguistic appropriateness, and the quality of the speech-target language. Graduates have mastered the skills of consecutive and simultaneous interpreting at the highest level.
