Description
The “Master of Arts in East Asian Art History” study course at Heidelberg University lasts four semesters and is in German and partially in English, French, Chinese or Japanese. The program concentrates on art, archaeology and the material culture of China, Japan, and to a lesser extent, Korea. Therefore, the training encompasses the study of painting and calligraphy, sculpture and architecture, ceramics, handiwork and photography, represented in all epochs to the present. Students acquire in-depth knowledge of the art and culture of China and Japan. The course provides advanced seminars, lectures, practice classes, colloquiums, and excursions. Graduates could pursue a career as curators, gallery owners, journalists and more career possibilities.
