The “Bachelor of Arts in East European and East Central European Studies” at Heidelberg University teaches students to an interdisciplinary approach to the examination of the culture and history of the Slavic countries.  The course provides an in-depth knowledge of two Slavic languages and allows students to choose to study East European and East-Central European Studies as a first or second major. The major- 50% - has a duration of six semesters and is in German and partly Slavic languages. Students acquire first insights into the theory of Slavic literature, linguistics and history, acquire fundamental research methods and develop analyzing, comparative, interpreting and social skills.
