The study course “Master of Arts in Egyptology” conducted at Heidelberg University offers extensive education in the vast field of antient Egypt. There are two specializations available in Writing and language and in Religion, archaeology, history, literature and Methodology. The duration is four semesters in full-time and there is the option for part-time study. Graduates can proceed to a career in the field of scientific research and teaching at universities, in the German Archaeological Institute, Cairo Department, in museums with Egyptian collections, in publishing houses, libraries and archives, in institutions of adult education, in documentation departments and more. Some of the included subjects are hieroglyphic and hieratic writing, Egyptian language, religion and ancient Egyptian conceptions of the world, archaeology and art history or text and written culture and more.
