Description
The “Bachelor of Arts in European Art History” course at Heidelberg University is an education that encompasses all the epochs of art history. The duration of the core-50% program is six semesters and is taught in German and sometimes in English and French. The course teaches students to perform research within an international art perspective, including material and conceptual aspects. Students acquire knowledge of artworks from different epochs, styles and forms and develop the conceptual tools necessary to describe, categorise, and interpret these works of art. The curriculum includes the topics: Genre adn Techniques, Form and Style, Iconography, and Architecture. The training offers seminars, practical courses, two day-excursions, a semester abroad or a semester at a different German university.
