Description
The “Bachelor of Arts in European Art History” study course at Heidelberg University teaches students to perform research within an international art perspective, including material and conceptual aspects. The program focuses on all the epochs of art history. The major-75% has a continuation of six semesters and is in German and sometimes in English and French. Students gain knowledge of artworks from different epochs, styles and forms and develop the conceptual tools necessary to describe, categorize, and interpret these works of art. The curriculum offers opportunities for specialization in building studies, medieval painting and graphics, modern architecture and visual arts, and new media of modern and contemporary media. Graduates can begin a career in stylistic history, iconography and genre traditions.
