The major-100% program “Bachelor of Science in Geography” at Heidelberg University concentrates on differentiated natural, economic and social processes particular to given localities. The course aims to provide students with an equal foundation in both Physical and Human Geography. The major-100% study is six semesters long and is in German and English. The training includes site observation, aerial and satellite imaging, laboratory methods, statistical analyses, interview and survey techniques and many other activities. Students develop problem-solving skills, general presentation skills, academic writing skills, organisation skills and team-working abilities. Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will receive in-depth knowledge of the sub-disciplines of geography.
