The “Bachelor of Science in Geography” program at Heidelberg University focuses students on learning differentiated natural, economic and social processes particular to given localities. The course-25% lasts six semesters and is conducted in German and English. Students receive a broad knowledge of the terms, theories and concepts of Physical Geography and Human Geography and Geoinformatics. During specializations, students acquire initial practical experience in various methods of data collection and interpretation. The practical training includes site observation, cartography, aerial and satellite imaging, laboratory methods, statistical analyses, working with geographical information systems (GIS), archive research and multiple more activities. Graduates completing this program can work with various methods and solve simple scientific issues.
