The “Master of Education in Geology (extension subject)” program at Heidelberg University has a length of three semesters. The goal of Earth science is to teach students to understand the creation and evolution of planet Earth. The interaction between the geosphere, atmosphere, hydrosphere and biosphere is constantly changing the Earth's surface. Throughout the course, students learn the history of Earth, geodynamics, geochemistry, magmatism, sediments, environmental geochemistry, as well as develop isotope techniques and analysis methods. Graduates are at a high level prepared for teaching positions.
