Description
The consecutive joint course “Master of Arts in Interreligious Studies” at Heidelberg University teaches students to evaluate issues that affect or hinder the peaceful coexistence of different religions and gain knowledge about how interreligious understanding can be attained. The program addresses issues and topics n the humanities, social sciences, and cultural studies. The training is instructed in German, partially French and English. The program is in cooperation with the universities of Basel and Strasbourg and the Heidelberg College for Jewish Studies. Students learn to interpret theological texts and issues from different religions and acquire historical, social, and cultural knowledge and critical hermeneutic skills. To apply, undergraduates should have a bachelor’s degree in a subject of theological or religious significance or linguistics, cultural, or social studies.
