The extension subject study program “Master of Education in Italian” at Heidelberg University runs over four semesters. The program focuses on Romance languages, literature and cultures in the Italian-speaking world, particularly in Italy and Ticino. Students acquire competencies in the fields of literature, linguistics, and cultural studies and specialised didactic skills. Graduates of the program with Italian as an extension subject are qualified to teach at Germany’s highest secondary school level. To apply, students should have a Bachelor's program with a teaching option.
