Description

The study course “Bachelor of Arts in Italian/Romance Studies” at Heidelberg University introduces students to Romance languages, literature and cultures. The program focuses predominantly on Italy and Ticino. The training has a continuation of six semesters and is taught in German and Italian. The 50% curriculum in Italian incorporates Literary Studies, Linguistics, Cultural studies and Language practice. These areas cover the history of Italian literature from its beginnings to the present day, the three genres of the epic, poetry and drama, language and society, theories and methods of cultural analysis and other themes. Students acquire abilities to speak and write fluently, understand complicated contemporary texts and translate literary or journalistic texts into Italian.
